Kouno Tooru is a student who transfers to the all-boys school, Fujimori Gakuen, after living with his Aunt and Uncle for quite some time. Fujimori Gakuen has an interesting tradition called the Princess or "Hime" tradition. Tooru is chosen as one of the Princesses, based on his good looks and personality (which is very suited to being a Princess, as we later discover).

Tooru uses his job as a Princess to escape from the family troubles that plague his daily life, and ultimately finds a place where he truly belongs.
